Our Mission
At No Child Left Breathless, our mission is rooted in the urgent reality of escalating asthma attacks among children. We recognize the direct link between environmental stressors, such as climate change, and the exacerbation of respiratory conditions. As temperatures rise and air quality worsens, our children are increasingly at risk.
Currently, Texas law merely allows schools to stock inhalers, creating a patchwork of safety measures that leave too many students vulnerable. Data reveals a sobering truth: 300 children die annually in the U.S. from asthma attacks, with thousands more experiencing emergency room visits. We believe it is unacceptable for any child to suffer or lose their life due to a lack of immediate access to essential medication. For this reason, No Child Left Breathless champions the mandate of emergency inhalers in every Texas school, regardless of district wealth or resources. By advocating for this policy change, we strive to create a future where no child will ever be left breathless.
